Vancouver Island Tango
Vancouver Island Tango is a collaboration of two communities and two people; Lyn Johnson of Cobble Hill and Kirra Gullickson of Comox, British Columbia, Canada.
We have had the privilege of hosting Miguel Angel Plá of Buenos Aires on his visits to the Pacific North West.
Both of us chose Miguel as our teacher and have studied with him extensively over the last ten years.
We originally created this website as an informational tool for the benefit of our students. But since we appreciate how much we’ve learned in our association with Miguel we also felt that he should have a forum in which to publish his writing and to share his philosophy of Tango so that others may also have access to this knowledge.
Miguel has written a number of articles on many aspects of Tango. We have included these in the Symposium section and believe this is important reading for anyone who sincerely wants to improve in their Tango, as well as gain more understanding about the roots and the culture of the dance.
We hope that you find the information illuminating and that it sparks conversation.
